Montessori Programs Offered at Alexander Montessori School

Alexander Montessori School offers a Children's House program for children approximately 2 - 6 years of age.  The very youngest children attend the half-day program while the older children, approximately 3 years and older, attend the full-day program.  The Children's House directress is Leislie Alvarenga.

The Elementary Montessori program is for children of ages approximately 6 - 9 years.  Normally, only children who have attended the Children's House program may enroll in the Elementary program.

The classroom hours for the programs are as follows:

Half-day Children's House program :

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon every day

Full-day Children's House and Elementary programs :

9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. every day

The full-day children in both programs have a lunch break from 12:00 noon - 1:30 p.m..  They first enjoy their lunch followed by recreational time outdoors in the school playground.  Each child brings his or her own lunch and the School strongly encourages parents to provide only nutricious, wholesome lunches with no sugar drinks or 'sweets'.

Unless enrolled in the School's extended care program, children normally arrive at the school between 8:45 - 9:00 a.m. and must be picked up at 3:30 p.m.
